ARMY PINK WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE. WE ARRANGED A COLLABORATION TO SHARE WITH YOKO ONO AT THE EVENT.
The project never materialized, as Yoko Ono was unable to attend the event (see her letter below). It envisioned a new recording and video of the John Lennon song “Imagine” produced by the Playing for Change Foundation. Army Pink was to create the retail apparel component, providing another dimension to the “Imagine Change” theme. The alliance with Playing for Change was focused on supporting girls and young women and was to be introduced at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting.
Army Pink was contacted by a beauty company that makes lip gloss and I gave them permission to name a color ARMY PINK. The color was a big success for them and the condition was that they would donate Army Pink's portion of proceeds to The American Red Cross for hurricane relief. After some years passed the company no longer wanted to have to donate to the Red Cross on behalf of Army Pink and asked to change the name to Pink Peace so I agreed. The ARMY PINK lipsense is now selling online and listed as the "rare unicorn Army Pink color". The name made it popular.
